In anurag basu's anthological film ludo, my favorite segment was the one featuring abhishek bachchan and inayat verma. Five years later, we get to see both of them in a full fledged film as father and daughter.

Its a story of a widower father and his daughter who wants to participate in dance india dance competition. Abhishek's character tries to be a strict dad but is easily emotionally manipulated. The whole first half runs on a flat note as everything happens in favor. But then comes a twist which makes the film emotional.

Be happy is a perfect ott film which would not have succeeded in theatres, but in ott during a lazy day, you sit with your family and watch this you would love it.

Manu gets released after his 10 year sentence. He is lonely and depressed after the events of side a. All he has remaining is the cassette priya gave to him in jail which he listens in loop. He starts dating a prostitute named surabhi as rebound. Manu finds out that priya is not living the married life that she talked about in the cassette as her husband's hotel business failed due to covid. Also she has stopped singing. Manu tries to financially help them secretly. On the other hand, manu's archenemy in jail soma has returned and is targeting surabhi to torture manu. Rest of the movie is whether manu moves on in life or not.

If side a is kireedam, then side b is chenkol where one is already heartbroken seeing manu and priya seperate in side a, but for hemanth rao that's not enough. He makes a second part where manu is depressed and can't move on from his love such that he starts stalking her, becomes friends with both her husband and son. On the other hand, priya is living an unhappy married life due to her husband's financial problems.

Though we understood the relationship of manu and priya in side a, in side b she's his ex and what he is doing for her is stalking and also he tries to kill her husband twice which does not make you like manu. Also they are not anymore a couple in this film. You don't get to see that beautiful chemistry they shared in side a in side b.

Only thing which satisfied me was were manu takes revenge on the ones who backstabbed him were i felt that this movie deserved a sequel but its just brief.

On the whole, side b is an unnecessary sequel where the main events shown in the film could have been trimmed into one hour and added into side a(which is only 2 hours runtime) which could have been a 3 hour film instead of 2 parts.

The one liner of saripoddha sanivaram is interesting. Hot headed surya promises his dying mother that he will fight bad guys only on Saturday. Characters are well developed. Screenplay is good. Action scenes are well choreographed. Jakes bejoy score is also good. There are no unnecessary songs. The heroine character of priyanka is also crucial to the story not just an eye candy.

But despite all these good things you can't fully enjoy this film mainly because of one thing- LENGTH. The movie is too long close to 3 hours. There was no need for so much detailing. The director's previous film ante sundaraniki suffered from the same problem. Second half has many lag scenes where surya tells colony people to find himself which is tedious. And in second half surya turns into a saviour of a colony. I think nani is aiming to become a tier 1 superstar in Telugu. That's why this plot. But i felt that the conflict could have been much simpler between nani and sj suryah.

On the whole saripoddha sanivaram could have been a best Telugu action movie in recent time if it wasn't lengthy and crisp enough.
