Every time I watch this, I am reminded of my youth. I was a teen in the early 2000s and knew girls like Evie.
I was also desperate to be friends with those girls/cool like Tracy.
I've seen reviews that say the movie is "too dramatic" for 13 year olds, but not from my experience. Like I said, I went to middle school with girls like the characters who were smoking, drinking, having sex, doing drugs, etc. So I doesn't seem far fetched to me.
This movie makes me thankful that I had parents and teachers who steered me away from a destructive path. In the quest for being cool, unfortunately a lot of young girls do end up in Tracy's situation. And the movie is accurate in portraying how fast those types of people will turn on you as soon as they can't use you anymore.
