It's really a character study on how they handle the horrific realities of war. Emotionally charged at all times & blends pounding action sequences with tender character development. The score is fitting with wildly realistic cinematography, set design, & costumes that puts you right on the battlefield. The war scenes are relentless, not holding back on the gruesome details. Yet the pacing & structure don't feel very smooth & there's a spark missing that most WWII stories have.
Easily the funniest & best written season in the past several years. With minimal jokes that don't land, it's a nearly nonstop display of chaotic comedy. Just enough new plots to keep things fresh but constantly having that unique spark that this is known for. The pacing is really well planned as events get crazier & concluded with absolutely hilarious surprises. The whole cast is in their zones & have reinvigorated the legacy that had seemed to be on the decline.
I'm not a huge fan of anthologies, especially spinoffs, yet this one is surprisingly solid. The animation style is really awesome & in the vain of throwback 2D Disney art. The stories do some interesting things with this country to build out their impact in the MCU. The historical fiction is exciting to have woven into this franchise. Not necessary but a fun little project that is better than most Marvel Animation.
