Really good old Swedish film! Stig Järrel at his best! It really makes you think about religious hypocrisy. I really enjoyed this.
This little piece is entertaining, at times, speedy and absolutely crazy! There's two beautiful women in the main story, and two men who falls totally in love with them. It's cute and funny, especially the little confused man in a hat, played by Stig Järrel. He tries a bit too hard sometimes, but is a little "Chaplin-funny" anyway. Catchy tune when they are dancing in the beginning of the film. Sweet and funny!
Drottningens juvelsmycke
In this black-and white tv-series the only good thing is the actor Stig Järrel... He makes a great role as a kind of evil person, with a lot of power. He tries in every way he can to tame the outspoken girl Tintomara, who fascinates him, mainly because she won't submit to him, I think. When she will not back away when he tries to use his superiority to her, he shows his affection for her and then! She begs for mercy, she is rather hated by him than loved by him. This hurts him, but also makes him angry. This, I think, is the most interesting problem in the play (it's performed as a play, with a narrator played by Per Oscarsson). The series takes place in the time of Gustav III in Sweden.
