Enzo (Claudio Santamaria) is a small-town crook in Rome, stealing purses and taking on small jobs with other crooks just to get by; after one such incident, he finds himself being chased by the cops and the only way to escape them is to jump into the Tiber River. Unfortunately for him, the place where he jumps conceals a number of barrels containing toxic waste, and one of them has been leaking. He suddenly finds himself with superpowers, and uses them to steal for

  • Stay Away

First of all it's not even scary! There were no big shocks or frights here. In fact most of the "horror" doesn't even happen until the last 15 minutes. Most of the movie is tween girls dressing up and talking and acting stupid.

Also the very talented cast is totally misused. Chloe Sevigny is always a delight on screen but she has very little to do. She had the one funny scene in the movie (involving lost cell phones) and then she basically disappears until the end. Timothy Hutton is a great actor but he is forced to yell and overact throughout the entire movie. Then they cast the gorgeous model/heiress Lydia Hearst and she is only on screen for a minute.

The other problem is that the plot is supposed to be about bullying but I could not tell who the victim was. All the girls are horrible and say mean, cruel things to each other. They are all playing evil bullies so how is the audience supposed to sympathize with anyone.

The director tries to be cool buy adding images of social media, online games, and hash tags but it just reminds you how bad the movie is. The ending is predictable and at the same time confusing. Skip this movie and please don't make the mistake of paying for it like I did.

  • Fantastic Film

"The Conjuring" is a high class horror film, its hard not to be scared by it, we care for the characters and the story is compelling enough to make you feel interested the whole time.

Based on true life events, Ed and Lorraine Warren are paranormal investigators set to help a family terrorized by a demon, said to be one of the most terrifying cases of their lives which they hadn't shared with anyone...until now.

First of all, I loved that it takes place in the 70's, I agree completely with director James Wan's point of view that it is almost impossible to make a horror film set in the present. For example, the teenage daughters of the haunted family would be taking pictures of the demons with their iphones and would be posting them on posting them on instagram, basically the demons would turn into the victims and the humans would be the bad guys.

The movie isn't perfect though, there are a few plot holes in it, but still it does have some great scares in it that had me jumping out my seat and I liked the way it builds up tension and lets us know the characters before it starts with all the craziness. Not only is the movie set in the 70's, but it also has the feel of a 70's horror film, with slow zooms and filming styles you wouldn't expect from a modern movie.

I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a great horror film, I guess it gives the feeling audiences must have felt when watching "The Exorcist", "Don't Look Now", or Poltergeist" for the first time.
