A re-imagining lacking in style, flavour or a coherent plot. Character motivation is vague and nonsensical. An excellent cast is underutilized. The first Ghostbusters was both a comedy and a horror film. This version is neither.
An indication of the personal termoil that Spielberg and Lucas were experiencing at the time, this is a darker, more ominous installment in the franchise although still a rip roaring adventure despite some of the political incorrectness that often dates older films.
Not as charming as the original but a solid action adventure movie which stands on its own.
None of the whimsy and genuine swashbuckling adventure of the original trilogy. A tired, weary almost bumbling Indy is not good for fans. If the addition of Shia was supposed to inject youthful vigor into the franchise, it did not.
If your not a fan, then its a tepid adventure movie with some average sometime laughable special effects, a cast with little chemistry and a supposed twist ending which leaves you wanting less.
