  • Great start to an even greater TV show

Filled with a (yet again) wonderful soundtrack, beautiful shots that convey much more than a simple picture (Shailene Woodley dancing, and Nicole Kidman staring into the ocean are just a few that come to mind), the first episode is a perfect entrance into what hopefully will be another amazing season.

The acting is great, and with the addition of Meryl Streep, who plays a passive aggressive mourning mother, it can only get better here on out.

  • Only one episode in an I'm hooked

If you're a fan of NY Times The Daily, you will love this show. It focuses on real stories, real events, and real people. This is journalism at its finest, and shows not only haunting stories from the modern world, but difficult and jarring situations that people around the world face.

    Very good content.

  • A breathtaking cinematic masterpiece. Alfonso Cuarón has done it again.

Alfonso Cuarón packs his unique style into arguably one of the decades most beautiful films. His signature long shots are absolutely stunning, and if you've seen any of his other films (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Gravity, Y Tu Mamá También) you'll notice that he adds every bit of his style Cuarón from visual symbolism and imagery, to complex takes.

There is so much in this movie to unpack, like the rich history of Mexico and it's politics during Echeverría's presidency, to a very common household and the relationship between employee and employer. The film talks through it's imagery, containing themes of family, love, abandonment and so much more.

I don't want to say any spoilers, but the scene in the beach near the end of the movie is one of the most beautiful and complex takes I have ever seen in any movie. Hats off to Cuarón for making such an incredible piece of art, and hopefully it gets the recognition and praise it deserves.
