You know what you should expect for this type of movie; it's never going to be Citizen Kane and it's not supposed to be. And for this genre, this movie delivered on all fronts. Yes you need a nice amount of suspension of disbelief at times but it comes with the territory. Add to it an unusual romantic angle and that makes it an interesting and entertaining watch. Recommended!
I absolutely love the first animated movie so I went in with very low expectations. But they managed to make it every bit as good as the original. It's funny because I just watched Lilo & Stitch and one of the weaker points to me is that it brings nothing new to the animated version; and purely objectively, it's the same here. But somehow, all the elements brought together are recreating the same winning magic that makes this an absolute delight. Not sure how they did it but I'm glad they did, and I'm glad I watched it!
I recently re-watched the first two and unlike most people I found them just ok. They both have good elements, and pretty big issues that bothered me. This third opus is along the same lines to me but with even fewer good elements. The directing and cinematography are more polished, but the plot, acting, and yes as everyone points out the second half are just not great. Go for it if you have nothing better to watch or if you're a really big fan of zombie movies (I'm the opposite and have very real zombie fatigue at this point).
