Yes, our people in Estonia, as well as people in other Soviet-occupied countries went through all this. I have my doubts if the whorehouses at that time really were as glamorous and clean as all that, but they call themselves 'gentlemen's club' so I might be wrong. It's a bit too romantic for my taste, but I guess it's aimed at women viewers and that's ok. It's still great to look at all these beautiful actresses and learn interesting facts about our history, such as the president Kennedy visiting Estonia before the WW 2.
Quite a clever comedy with some genuine chills. Keeps you guessing til the end and then wraps up nicely. Love the 1930s decor and the dark low key atmosphere. The flashbacks are hilarious.
This is neither good nor bad. Its very much in between, so the best thing to say is that it leaves you quite indifferent. There was endless trumpeting and media coverage as the series was filmed and aired, but sadly it failed on so many levels. I watched it for the actors, but sometimes their lines are awkward and the plot is just plain boring. This series very badly wants to be something that it's not.
