This is not a movie you want to watch a second time:the plot is very simple and the psychological characterization is basic. However the story evolves very quickly and I didn't took my eyes off the screen through the whole movie.Andrea Carpenzano confirms to be one of the best young italian actors.
Although I appreciated Benvenuto Presidente, at least for the original idea behind the presidential election of the main character Giuseppe Garibaldi, this movie has got nothing to say apart from making a parody of the events and the people involved in the recent italian elections (as if reality isn't comical enough). The desperate economical situation gets paradoxically solved with the arrest of four people responsible for all the words problems (as the teased politicians in the movie actually state). In the end there is room for an avoidable provocation which I do not fully understand.Anyway, remarkable acting from Claudio Bisio.
Claudio Caligari's third (and last) work highlights an evolution of the harsh realism of Amore Tossico.Despite dealing with drug addiction now the majestic performances by Borghi and Marinelli provide the psychological insights that are the main quality of the movie.Drug Is unavoidably responsible for the development and the tragic end of their friendship.
