I had tears when I heard the goggle sound after many years. Splinter Cell is one of my favorite games of all time. I started watching this with much hope to see much awaited franchise return.
However, Sam walking in front of security cameras first alarmed me what the hell is happening. It didn't make sense. I remember destroying every camera I see in the game very well.
Then came the john wick style actions. Also didn't make sense. Animation is pretty good and fresh but how it's handled felt it's force when you go towards the end of the story. This show is not about Sam Fisher. This story is about the black sidekick. That's when I felt that this is forced and it's all Yasuke situation all over again.
Finally, when Dam is saved by the girl, it made no sense at all. Sam Fisher is a lone wolf. A genius in the books as well as in the games. This show made it look like he needs saving at the end. Then it made feel me that Netflix amd Ubisoft has made this show about ticking boxes rather than sticking to original source materials. Story is rushed and character building felt flat. Sam Fisher should have been given much focused with its original intent like in the books and in the games.
Disclaimer: im an Asian amd i dont have any issue with DEI. I rather welcome it as I am too part of it. However seeing a beloved franchise fail like this gave me chills. Netflix and Ubisoft could have made it better with DEI involved. Ex: no saving needed by a girl (black, asian or white) for Sam Fisher. Giving it a 5 because I got to see Sam Fisher's some actions after a long time.

I watch this show for its significance in the sitcom history and being a movie fan and classic sitcom fan, I thought of giving this a go. At first I fell in love with the show but it started slowly to turn into questioning what I'm watching.
Im this storytelling, there are many episodes where a character peeps in a women's bedroom, washroom, having unorthodox sexual behaviors. And the shows women acted so normal for these so called comedic scenes. This led me to read about the show and found out that this shownin fact has a so dark background with sexual predators.
Mila Kunis was 14 when she has a kiss on this show and she and her cast member talks about it in a cringe way in an interview. Other cast members has had partners who were then underage. One cast member had been jailed and returned to the show later. Imagine this is happening in today's world! Would those people be able to get cast ever again? That's what happened in this show. They kept going.
If you look at closely the writing is so good in so .any instances but in its dark end the writing is so cringe to warch knowing the truth. These writers and the director has actively promoted predatory behavior in storytelling while it was happening in real life. After knowing Mila Kunis was underage and was promoted sexually in this show, I watched the show fast forwarding most episodes. Because what's depicted in the show is wrong. Getting to know that she and the whole cast except the Eric actor supported the convicted actor, this entire show became entirely something else for me.
For a normal fan who wouldn't understand these out of place things, this show will be a great show. But if you question what you are watching while you warch it, then this is a horror show for sure. In my opinion, this show should be banned in all platforms.

What makes this show a great show is the cast and it's complexity of the stories in development. The 3 storyline is meticulously put and crafted. However what's common in these stories is that it's very complex which makes it very unique and old school type drama. If you are familiar with complex storytelling and spycraft woth global politics, then this show is a 10/10 for you. For a normal fan who's just watching it an episode per week might not be thet intriguing since this is a bit hard to follow. I would highly recommend that you watch it in one go since the first season is now out. This is a rare show for spycraft fans particularly if you are a fan of Lee Child or Tom Clancy. It's a mix of spy thriller storytelling types and well written and very well acted. I cannot say that there are gimmicks or one actor is lesser important than the other in this show. All actors are well acted including all supporting characters which is very rare in these days. 10/10!
