This new Twister movie has all the ingredients to become a massive blockbuster and it was intended to be just that but unfortunately it fails to deliver on every front.
Don't get me wrong ,it's a decent movie with great special effects but the movie itself is very forgettable and predictable.
The reason for this because where the original Twister had great character's, Twisters has unfortunately not really any character in it ,that you care about ,no real character development, yes there is a little back story but nothing major ,just a single moment at the start that shapes the main characters story and it sticks with that. I am sure that this could have been a lot better then it was ,but unfortunately what we got is a decent action flick with some great action scenes ( sometimes very over the top)but leaves you feeling empty after the credits roll due to forgettable characters that you don't really care much about.
The fact that they went with unknown actors didn't help because if you have a great character development it doesn't matter if an actor isn't really that famous because you will be able to relate to that person but unfortunately that's not the case here.
All in all it's watchable but I didn't mind when it ended. 5/10 for me.

What can I say about Gladiator 2? I went into this movie without expectation and I am glad I did because I was entained for the running time bit not in the way I secretly but unrealisticly hoped for. There were a lot of things that were good and things that were less good but could be forgiven because it had big shoes to fill.
First of all the good things ..the set pieces and the action were all solid and we're very pleasing to the eye and even the story was an understandable continuation of the first movie but was this movie necessary? No it certainly wasn't and that is where the problem lies and that's why here are some of the bad things, because it feels like some of the actors felt like that as well ...it all felt a little flat and in the end a movie that felt it didn't have a soul. The main character was ok in my opinion but didn't have the charisma and leadership abilities of Russell Crowe and he really needed them to make his character more believable. Pedro Pascal's character was s solid performance and I enjoyed him being in the movie ,also Denzel Washington's character was great to watch but for me the character that stood out as if she didn't want to be in the movie and the way say portrayed it was Connie Nielsen as Lucilla ...I mean I thought she pretty good in the first movie but here her acting skills were totally absent and it was bothering me to be honest. And then there is some of the CGI like the baboons in the beginning of the movie wich was pretty bad to be honest but also some of the fighting scenes and the blood that was spilled felt a little unconvincing at times. Overall at the end of the movie I watched a movie that I didn't need but I was entertained and I would have given the movie a 7 out of 10 wasn't it for the lack of emotion I felt for the characters,I mean with the original Gladiator I was sincerely moved and cared for the characters but here I didn't and that's why I give Gladiator 2 ......a 6 out of 10 for sheer entertainment value....and for trying to keep us entertained but it would never have been able to live up to the masterpiece that is Gladiator.

What can I say about this movie ....to say it was a beautiful and excellent movie seems wrong because of the serious nature of the story and knowing it was based on a true story makes it even more harder to find the right words to describe this harrowing story and the effects of war and what it does to people on either sides. Can the actions of men at war be justified because of what they go through or do we still hold on to principals that seem to make us human or do we lose our humanity under the stress of a constant threat in a warzone. For sure if we lose our humanity by commiting war crimes of the nature by what is shown in the movie ,then where and what is the purpose of war ,who is wrong and who is right?
This powerful war Drama is based on real live events which makes it even more scary about the thought of who we send to war and what kind of individuals we give power and weapons.....this movie is very thought provoking and for me the director made a masterpiece of portraying life in a warzone and the consequences of the actions you take and if you should be held responsible for those actions.
The actors in this movie are very well chosen .
Sean Penn plays his part brilliant as ever , Don Harvey is great as Clarke and the other involved actors are great as well ,but Michael J Fox for me steals the show in this movie and shows that besides roles in movies like Back to the Future and Teenwolf he can play drama real well.......his role as Eriksson was absolutely amazing and I thought it was even Oscar worthy.
And let's not forget the acting skills of the Girl in this movie and they way she played the victim ,was really heartbreaking to see.
All in all to call this movie a beautiful and excellent movie seems a little bit out of place , this is exactly what this movie is .....a masterpiece in portraying what can happen when mankind goes to war!!!
Everyone should watch this. 8/10.
