You can suspend disbelief on almost anything but you cant suspend stupidity or poor writing that results in stupidity. The last few moments where main characters who otherwise act intelligently all of a sudden make moronic decisions that even someone who is functioning on instinct alone would not do totally destroy the preceding story. There are plenty of better ways to accomplish the actions needed to move the plot along but lazy shortcuts for plot armor take what wouldce been really cool and great into the land of derivative and foolish. In this case several main characters apparently die off screen. WHAT.

  • It was a decent attempt

Low budget does not always mean bad movie. I admire the guts of takes to put it all together let alone act and direct and so forth. However. Why make the lead character so unsympathetic and obnoxious? Dont you want the audience to sympathize and root for your lead characters? When you succeed in making them annoying AND stupid, no one cares about them. In some cases the audience may take the side of the bad guys. That is exactly what happens here. And this is BEFORE the reveals that are supposed to make our opinion change about the characters. Maybe some more script polishing was needed to bring this up to par. Still worth watching but couldve been better.

  • Infuriating writing in a potentially great film

Why do the main characters have to be stupid, act stupid and say stupid things. They are at a level of stupidity that isnt believable. The first 20 minutes was a world record in stupidity and cliched tropes. It's one thing if its stupidly funny like Fargo but it isnt. You know right from the start exactly what each trope character is gonna do. This film couldve been a 10 if only a little thought were put into the writing and characterization. Also the drastic flip that characters do would be fine with better writing, so we can understand their reasoning, twisted as it may be, but here it has to be chalked up to stupid.
