As a retired licensed Chief Engineer (unlimited horsepower) there are numerous inaccuracies. The Captain and Chief Engineer know better than to allow many of poor repairs to the vessel and leave port. My experience has all been on inspected vessels though. The apparent lack of professionalism is concerning with these stories.
