This excellent television serial presents the adventures of the Jaquemin family, which is made up of Léandre Jaquemin who is called "Pépère", his son Antoine, his wife Jeanne and their 8 children and their families. They live on a farm which they cultivate in a modern way in the village of Ste-Marie-des-Anges, near Joliette. The serial lasted 6 seasons, for a total of 229 episodes. Terre Humaine introduced a pleasant and simple history and characters more than attaching. The acting was great and many great québécois actors were involved, notably Jean Duceppe (Pepère), Marjolaine Hébert (Jeanne) and Guy Provost (Antoine) as the main characters.
Life is wonderful, love is the essence of life and sex is one of the most beautiful ways to express love. Then why would someone want to consider sex as a "tool of power", a sort of weapon between individuals to prove oneself to oneself? That sad story of a woman with a fixation on sex, on the mechanics and the organs of sex, not even its beauty, is a loss of time and money. Pouah! And don't even think that this movie is sexy, it is not. It's sad. Very sad.
Ah! To see a movie where the plot is superbly constructed, the thrills are "honest" and, more than anything, the acting is excellent. Bruce Willis is proving again that he can be at the top quality level and that young boy is simply excellent. Remember his name and follow his career, he'll go far. He has that emotional quality that only great actors can achieve. An excellent evening, a wonderful movie.
