Despite the choleric assertions of many illiterate critics, this is more than worth your time.
While not at the level of Excalibur, its heart is in the right place and it's more than appropriate to our current situation.
It reminds us of what's possible when men of heart and courage gather against those with evil intent are able to achieve in the name of righteousness.
A liar becomes an invincible king with fake yellow hair and has henchmen to do his evil bidding after snatching the crown from his dying father's hands.
His intentions were clear from the start, despite the best efforts of those trying to put him on the path of the just.
With Arthurian honor as a back drop, the people must wait for one who also lost his way to have a change of heart.
Technically, the many challenges of a less computational age, are excellent and worthy of our suspension of disbelief. Absorb the spectacle and enjoy the show.

The professional reviewers are clearly lost as to what is being presented, or don't care for operatic level scifi. The more I watch this, the more impressive it becomes.
Somewhat of a Cinderella story, except the princes are rogues and her royal family by DNA are a collection of cutthroat pirates with no scruples to speak of. Wrap it up with over the top graphics and an indulgent knock on bureaucracy, and we have a marvelous soufflè, which I find immensely enjoyable.
Our scullery maid/toilet cleaner/princess is assumed by her royal relatives to be a bit dim, by their standards, and likely to be easily fooled. With a couple fortuitous events, she realizes that they're as conniving as her relatives back home, and not necessarily smarter, at which point she finds her edge.

I'm unclear as to why the reviewers are so blind to the heart of this very engaging effort.
I can think of various reasons, but my point is that this is very engaging film that attacks or current influencer culture for how shallow it is and does so with a deft but mostly light touch.
At the same time it addresses the issue of an attempt to apply blandness to solve the diversity and social hierarchies of high school. Instead, Rebel's character is going to encourage people to just be themselves and respectful of others at the same time.
Lastly, it provides a contrast between youthful dreams and the realities of adulthood. It does so with a bubbling comic flare and a crew of actors who inhabit rather than flaunt their characters.
