Fetch the sacrificial goat, Drew Barrymore's got another movie out. Hail Drew, princess of pop culture! Okay, I'm done. I know a lot of people didn't think much of this movie, and I can see where they're coming from. The plot was completely unrealistic. But I have to say, I didn't notice that Never Been Kissed even *had* flaws until I saw them listed in other's comments about this movie. I personally thought it was a great story, and the movie should still have been made regardless of the numerous plot holes. There were some very touching flashback sequences, and Drew Barrymore illuminated the screen yet again in her role as an extremely convincing nerd. I loved every second of this movie, from the Truman-Show-esque scenes in the office to where Josie twirls around in her living room in a *hideous* pink lame` prom dress to Madonna's "Like a Prayer" to the really sappy ending which actually made me cry. And I do NOT cry at movies. Drew Barrymore, who could get me to watch a documentary about three-toed-sloths if she was in it, was by far the most adorable she's ever been as the shy, studious girl who constantly corrects people's grammar(!) How do they come up with this stuff??? With anyone else that would have made me want to smack the girl, but of course I would never dream of striking the great and powerful Drew Barrymore. What can I say, she just keeps topping herself. Go see this movie if you're a Drew fan, but otherwise you may hate it.
the movie was okay, but if you've read the book, you can't compare the two. carrie, i'm sorry to say, made a downright bad horror film. The book didn't make a very good horror story either. both, however, made wonderful dramatic stories. i really identified with carrie white. sissy spacek was good, but i could do better. i'm sorry if it sounds conceited. thats all i'm going to say. if you liked the movie, read the book, it's a lot more fulfilling.
...and believe me, i've watched plenty of 'em. just wanted to say this is an awesome, well-written show for a wide variety of ages. the characters are so original. makes me sick how disney's recess is shamelessly copying them. helga rules, totally. and stinky and eugene and the little psycho one are just priceless as well. i just love all the characters, they are so great with those hilarious catch phrases and the like. keep up the good work, writers!
