  • I enjoyed watching Remi in my younger years.

I used to watch Remi as a child in my native Dominican Republic. Yes, it was dubbed in Spanish.

This the first Japanese anime series I saw on Dominican TV in the late 70s. I looked forward to each weekly episode. Unfortunately I never got to see all of them.

Here is a brief overview of this story. Remi was an abandoned child. He lived with his adoptive mother. They were very poor. When Mr. Vitalis - a tall and burly older man - was in town looking for a young boy to assist him with his traveling circus animals, he recruited Remy.

During his travels with Mr. Vitalis and his animals, Remi meets several people one of which will become his best friends. This is a very moving and poignant story, which is apt for the whole family to watch.

I would love to purchase a DVD set containing all the episodes in either English or Spanish.

  • I loved and still love Candy Candy

This is one of my favorite anime series that I watched as a child in my native Dominican Republic. I looked forward to each weekly episode. The episodes were dubbed in Spanish but unfortunately I didn't get to see all of them. To this day (and I am in my 30s), I still remember the opening and ending songs that played at the beginning and ending of each episode (in Spanish of course).

Candy Candy was a phenomenon: it resembled an animated soap opera. It was so original because back then the Japanese were the first ones to come with a concept like that: an animated soap opera.

I loved how Candy was always so tomboyish and always got back to her nemesis Neil and Elisa. I hated them so much because they tried to make Candy's life miserable but she always got back at them.

Candy Candy is apt for the entire family. But be warned: it will make you cry and laugh, not exactly in that order.

  • I also enjoyed watching this as a child

I used to watch Starzinger (known as "El Galáctico" in Spanish) as a child in my native Dominican Republic. Yes, it was dubbed in Spanish. I still remember the opening and ending songs. The Spanish names of the three cyborgs that accompanied Princess Aurora in her quest to restore the energy to save the galaxy were: Galactico (Cogo), Glotin (Porcus) and Giorgio (Jorgos). My favorite character was Galactico (Cogos).

I looked forward to watching each weekly episode but unfortunately I never got to see all 64 of them. Does anybody know where I could purchase a DVD set with all the episodes either in Spanish or English?

Princes Aurora and the boys encountered all sorts of terrible things in their travel to restore energy to the galaxy. In the process, even the Princess herself had to fight.

This story is actually a remake of an old Chinese folk tale, translated into English as "MONKEY." MONKEY was also adapted to the small screen. I got to see it in English and Spanish.
