  • Hand pump scene distracted me

Though I haven't watched the entire film, but I got to see one of the scenes which shows how poor is the imagination of J.P. Dutta. In an emotional scene when the protagonist comes back to her home and saw old things of childhood, she saw hand pump among other things and pumped it. But the scene's emotion were spoiled as hand pump shown was government hand pump introduced quite later. Had it been the old ones as there are in Indian villages, scene would probably have been worth feel. Give this same scene to any other sensitive director like Yash Chopra or Ashutosh Gowarikar, see the difference how they capture the emotion when a person returns home after many many years and after facing many sad events. This scene was enough to pull me off the film.

  • My First experience of a film-unforgettable

Baazigar is perhaps the first film that i watched as well as understood as a child. From then it had been one of my favorite films I've ever watched. I remember its promos (that was something new in India at that time since before that publicity through promos could have hardly been seen as there were rareley few channels apart from Doordarshan.)

I loved its story line, Abbas Mustan's direction, and Shahrukh khan's, Kajol's and Shilpa Shetty's performances. Abbas Mustan's direction and screen play at many instances resemble the ones that we used to have in 80's Amitabh Bachhan flicks. Specially Rakhi added to what i say by her typical 'ma' performance. Also I love the film's beginning and what follows before casting like 80's movies. That has too much intensity that initially raises expectations about the film and indulges into the story line and 'what would happen next'. Shahrukh Khan had done a superb job and he takes all sympathy even though giving a full fledged negative performance. This proved his potential as an actor and won him well deserved Filmfare Award. It was because of this film that he became favorite to Yash Chopra which catapulted his career. Kajol and Shilpa Shetty are incidentally my favorite actresses since then; Kajol in terms of her attraction and natural performances and Shilpa Shetty in terms of her beauty and leaving a great impact on audience even after doing a relatively small role. Music of the film was great but it is difficult to believe how 'Anu Malik' could give such unforgettable tunes and numbers.

Overall a must watch film, as i've watched it innumerable times but still won't feel bored if have to watch it again.

  • fantastic film,my all time favourite

Dil to pagal hai is a fantastic film. Its my all time favorite.I like the films directed by Mr. Yash Chopra and among them its the best one. Since the year it released i.e. 1997 no other film has been like this to me till now. My extreme liking for DTPH is because of following reasons.. ->Its tag line i.e someone somewhere...is made for you. ->Its story line and Yash Chopra's perfection as a director. ->Its superb music by Uttam Singh and Lata Mangeshkar's melodious duets with Udit Narayan.I love its songs; and Lata's voice seems to be fresher(even more than old songs of her) ->Uttam singh's background instruments rock whenever i listen to the numbers. ->Shahrukh Khan's first performance in which he did not stammer and did not deliver dialogs in the way like he earlier used to.He was very serious and his acting was quite, calm and mature. For the same reason he got several awards for this film. ->Madhuri's performance was great and so was of Karisma. Both got awards and Karisma also got a well deserved Rashtriya Puraskar(National Award). ->I love its screenplay specially in the scenes having an acting stage within the film.(See its climax to confirm what i said.) MUST SEE IT AFTER READING MY COMMENTS IF YOU ARE NOT AGREE WITH ME.
