The rating of this movie is ridiculously low for one reason; Spike Lee basically called Clint Eastwood a racist. This is also why some critics have given this movie bad reviews. You will find many legit critics who judge based on the actual movie, gave this one great reviews. I say see the movie for yourself as it is Oscar worthy.

I normally don't post comments regarding movies but, upon seeing the ridiculous 5 rating, I had to say something here. I've noticed things in the forum, like actors who people expected to see more of in the film. I am African American and I saw this movie last night. First thing I will say is when I walked in, over half of the theater was already filled with Caucasians which kinda surprised me. I was wondering if they #1, knew this was a spike lee movie and #2, knew if was about a group of black soldiers in WWII. At the end of the movie I was shocked that the entire theater erupted with applause. This is the best movie I have seen from Spike Lee and, if he keeps his mouth shut and his comments to himself, he can expect an academy award nomination here. I'm not sure what previews some of these people watched which gave them some impression that this was an action movie but, I knew it was not as none of the previews made it seem so. Its not a Saving Private Ryan type of movie but, more like Schindler's List. The movie was long but, I didn't feel the length. I was shocked to see around 3 hours had passed since I walked into the theater until I got in my car. I did not once check for the time during the movie, something I did even during The Dark Knight. Though this movie is fictitious, it feels so real as you watch it. What spike did here is extremely incredible. While I originally didn't feel a Caucasian person would be able to appreciate this movie as much as myself or other blacks, the applause in that theater proved me wrong. Ignore these ridiculous comments about being disappointed and seeing an actor you saw named in the movie for only 8 minutes. This movie follows 4 black soldiers and the people in the Italian village they get stuck in; what actors do you think you will see most of the movie?? Go see this movie. There aren't many over the course of a year worth paying $10.75. This will be one of the few that is.

I noticed this movie was getting trashed well before it hit the theaters and I too didn't have high hopes for it. I figured it was another "You Got Served" type of movie with some nice dance moves and horrid acting. I was at the theater and deciding between this and Meet the Spartans and picked this. To my surprise the acting wasn't bad at all and the movie was actually pretty good. The fact that it has a lower rating than You Got Served is absolutely ridiculous. Instead of listening to the garbage posted on here I recommend going to see a matinée showing of this movie so you don't spend too much. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with how wrong everyone has been about it. When it comes to dance movies this is certainly one of the better ones with far superior acting than many of the other ones. Go see the movie and judge for yourself. Hopefully the rating will rise after it comes out on DVD and more people check the movie out instead of judging it based on comments before the movie released.

edit The movie is now moving closer to its correct rating. Over 1000 people have given it a rating of 9, a bit too high but at least it is helping to offset the ridiculous votes of 1.
