Didn't expect too much of this flick, and I was quite surprised with what I found.
Of course is not the best romantic comedy ever, it has a lot of cliché situations and silly jokes, but there's a spark between actors, there's chemistry between Cheryl Hines (who is the best in this movie), Bridgit Mendler and Lindsay Lohan turning ridiculous situations into funny moments, the director found a good balance between them, making a nice and really charming movie that if you have some spare time you can check out and it's not just a total waste of time. The bad ratings must be Lohan's haters.
Someone gave Lohan another chance and she took advantage of it, it's not bad as her latest films (considering that her only good flick is Mean Girls, it's not much what I'm saying).
Anyway, I think it was a good idea to go to a more independent thing so people can begin trusting in her again. And for sure you will enjoy.

OK, how can I begin with this...
First, I was expecting lots from this movie, now that I'm more used to Argentinian's films. But oh my God... this 80 (sufferable) minutes wasn't on my expectations.
The story & the way it is shot, yes, is beautiful and completely interesting, and some people will say that the slow pace is necessary... Well, I DON'T think so... the slow pace made me wanna leave the theater since the first 30 minutes, (and actually some people at the theater left) I know Martel normally uses this kind of rhythm in her movies, but in a completely different and interesting way!! (as in La Ciénaga & La Niña Santa) and usually (apparently) nothing happens, BUT everything is happening, right there in front of you.
Well, in this one, apparently nothing happens, and actually... NOTHING is happening.
And all that technical things, like using that kind of lenses and that focus, (that's the only way to show what the character is feeling/thinking?? Don't think so!) and cutting the character's head all the time... Well, there is a moment when enough is definitely, enough.
Bored me to the core, HATE WHEN PEOPLE DO FILMS FOR THEMSELVES BUT NOT SO INTERESTING FILMS FOR OTHER PEOPLE TO SEE.
The plot (apparently) was interesting, and (again I repeat) she knows how to shoot and camera movements are beautiful, but come on!! Tell me this story in 40 minutes not in 80!!
And all that lesbian stuff... totally and completely unnecessary.
If you really want to see it (as I did), wait till it crashes video clubs.

I was completely expecting only an action movie with Ms. Jolie kicking ass and just went to the movies for watching a summer flick and having a good time... and for my luck, I GOT MORE!! Yes, the plot is predictable at some points, but the twists in it (for me) weren't predictable at all and actually found them really interesting.
Great FX, lots of (NOT unnecessary) action sequences and lots of new entertainment, not a copy of anything, even when everybody says that they copy The Matrix slow motion effects... OK, who doesn't? all action movies use them now, and actually I think they took what The Matriz brought to another level, the story is wit.
James McAvoy's (character and performance) is great, actually all the things that he thinks, the way he acts, I found it actually really deep. Always asking to himself lots of things and the way he portraits this is amazing.
Angelina Jolie beautiful and perfect since she appears on screen till the explosive finale.
Script is perfect and filmed in an exquisite way, camera movements are a delish.
I know it is based on a comic, never read it (definitely, now completely interested) but I supposed that this movie respect it a lot, even some shots are totally as if you were watching a giant comic book on screen, hope fans were satisfied, because I have had a good hell of a ride and actually got me thinking in lots of things, try to look deeper and you will find more than action and you will appreciate it lots more.
Hope Bekmambetov gives more of his visionary and amazing world, soon.
Love it!
