Watching Saturday Night's Main Event back in the 80's was one of the highlights of the week as a kid. The larger than life characters and wrestling action kept my friends and I glued to the TV.
Having it back on NBC in 2024 is awesome!! Great seeing Jesse "The Body" Ventura in front of the camera once more.
Some excellent nods to the past throughout the night, especially using Animotion's song Obsession. Along with the Winged Eagle Title Belt. Hope they continue acknowledging the past in future shows.
The matches were also good ones tonight with the best saved for last. I for one will be tuning in next month to catch the next Saturday's Night's Main Event.

Liam Neeson has the revenge action/drama flicks down pat by now. The previews of this one made it look like yet another entertaining one of those. It starts off that way, but then gets bogged down with enough side characters and plots that are so uninteresting and boring I found myself looking at my watch a few times.
I wonder if a directors cut exists and if it is any better or much worse; my guess would be the latter if it is just more of what was already seen. This really felt like one of those movies where the big name actor shows up for 5 days of filming and then those scenes are sporadically placed throughout the movie.
Even the dark humor falls short most of the time. Only a few laughs were heard in a mostly packed theater.
The potential was there for this one, but the story fell short.
Caught a screening of this movie in Salt Lake City. The Appalachian Trail Conservancy put it on. What a fun movie, Nolte is great in it!! I was quite surprised on how funny he was. Redford and Nolte make a good team. About time a Bryson book got up on the big screen. I wonder how much of an increase in foot traffic there will be on the AT after this movie gets released. I'm sure next summer will be quite a bit busier. If a movie makes me want to go to the location/s it takes place I count that as a great movie. If you are a fan of the book, actors, hiking, nature or have hiked the AT you should enjoy this one. Well worth the visit to the cinema.
