  • What was "skinyjoemerilo" from Chicago thinking...in 2001

After reading "skinnyjoemerlo" from Chicogo comment dated 2001 here on IMDb I didn't followup by securing a copy of the Marksmen. I dismissed an interest that had been originally developed in me to see the marksmen by a group of film buffs who highly recommend it. Members of this group really know films both historically and have been very enlighting with their analysis of the story content .

Many times they have saved me the price of admission and worst; wasting my time. Skinny Joe from Chicogo forgets that there is other than the big cities that make a film successful... we call it the "Great American Heartland". Films like this don't make it to the publics attention because the distributors view a real heartfelt storyline that reflects the interest of the Heartland as if it had no commercial value. I watched it last week at a friends home. This film will make you reflect on what really makes you happy. If your from a small town, or were from a small town,or as many people I meet today, that are from a large city who have matured and want to experience the peace ,friendliness, and belonging that the American Heartland provides ...See this film. P.S. I was born and raised in Philadelphia Pa. and live in NYC.. I know the difference!!!

  • Wil Horneff's was Far better than the 1940,s Yearling..

    Greeting,

This was a well done re-make of the an American Classic. The acting was superb, the filming was more visually complete, and this is a must for any 13 teen year old who has to do a book report for school...not to mention the parent helping.

No kidding as a 7th grader I had to read this book as well and I can tell you that as an adult this is one that you will enjoy helping your kid with, if you rent the video first. By the way the Wil Horneff,Jean Smart, and Peter Straus combination could not have been more perfectly selected as the leads in this coming of age classic.

  • American Jihad (13.1) Season opener 2002.The Best of the Best

    Greetings,

I've been a loyal fan of Law and Order for many years and for the most part enjoyed all, with very few exceptions. However, by far this episode is was the "Best of the Best"!!!! I recognize that the subject matter is timely, as is the case with the greater majority L&O's work but this one had a much deeper quality and the lead guest was riveting.

I could see how a young person, without much of an identity,an aimless direction, and a need to be loved could turn to the pressures of extreme fanatic religion, once exposed, to give him a purpose in life. Having a son the same age as the episode's guest lead, who is away at college in New York, briefly gave me pause. In fact, I called him several times that week just to keep connected and have a sense that he wasn't becoming associated with these extremist groups.

I believe this is one of the most repeated episodes in L&O's history, based upon the several times I have seen it re-televised over the past few years. Maybe some number counter out there can verify my assumption.
