Having to listen to Latvian, a language that very few people in the world understand doesn't make it better in any way. Since the Bardelis guy can speak English I felt an imposition on the audience. Having to pay Amazon to watch this "film" doesn't promote the audience good will either, I'm halfway through this documentary and I feel I'm not getting anything new from it save for repeated juvenile exclamations for everything the guy experiences, like finding an apple.
I cannot recommend watching it unless you are a masochist.
PS, the "film making" is pathetic.

Evidently based on the 1956 film "The Man That Never Was", this development brings onboard people that might have intervened on the plot, like Ian Fleming.
Several sub-plots, even romantic ones that some find distracting take this beautifully crafted film to the streaming platforms.
Actors, first and secondary lines are top notch and bring flesh to it and the director makes good use of the material at hand.
In all, a very enjoyable thriller. Solid!

Plot: A high school kid could do better.
Direction: Wes Craven, do I need say more?
Acting: extras? Appalling!
Editing: Completely amateurish. If there was some material from the equally bad photography, the guy missed it.
Photography: ditto.
It is a rare occasion when a remake is better than the original. I watched this amateurish (even for Wes Craven) movie whan I saw this mentioned in the 2009 remake that is way much better in every sense, start to finish. Even if the latter wasn't award material, it is congruent, the plot is good, acting fair and even the gore is better.
