I saw this riffed by Rifftrax. That's probably the only way to enjoy it. I really liked the dance contest at the end, but how the writers thought that a huge dance contest with only three couples as contestants made sense, I just don't know. That's a shame, because the dancing was the only great part about it. They could have at least shown maybe 6 performances at the and. More plausible and enjoyable. The script and acting are pretty abysmal. The romance angle was trite and laughable. If you get a chance to watch this, just skip to the end. Put the last ten minutes or so on a loop and watch it over and over.
I thought the acting was good and the storyline really kept me on my toes. I thought I knew what was going on at first, mostly because I expected a version of the 1944 movie by the same name, but I was completely wrong. This movie is like an amalgam of the original Gaslight and Fatal Attraction. It has things in common with both, but the mystery is more complex than either. It's kind of like a whodunit, with a fairly large cast of characters and the viewer not sure who the culprit is and how all the storylines tie together until the end. I really enjoyed it. I'm just glad the main character didn't have a pet rabbit.
