I don't understand why there are no reviews of this movie. It was quite entertaining and even endearing, although sometimes too wordy. The locations were great, perhaps because I've been to some/most of them. Most of the dialogue was realistic, as well as the acting. I'd like to see A Reunion II.
Syriana is very difficult to follow. Its message is superb, but would have been more cogent if the movie had been written & directed better. It is just too confusing. Language translation captions are not displayed long enough to view the characters & scene and still understand what is being said. This is poor direction.
Most people blame the oil companies for our "dependence" on oil products and the "cashing in" of higher fuel prices. What most people don't realize is that government is responsible for the distortion of massive road-building, excessive use of cars/trucks, destruction of mass transit by train, consequent urban sprawl, and destruction of neighborhood stores. All of this has lead to our reliance on more oil-produced fuel. We need to hold ourselves accountable.
All in all, keep up the good work Mr. Clooney.
