On the Corner of Ego and Desire is a funny, spot on depiction of the single minded, delusional thinking that all independent filmmakers have experienced at one time or another. Set at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City Utah, a trio of filmmakers spend a day trying to find an elusive producer who has agreed to watch their film. Beautifully locations, solid performances and good pacing make it quite an enjoyable watch!
I rented this movie last night.....I wanted to like it because I understand that the first installment was quite successful. I am a filmmaker and I am very understanding when it comes to mistakes made because of inexperience and no real budget. I have made and will probably continue to make mistakes until I'm technically proficient as a director. All I can say is... I didn't get this. The film is out of synch in many places. Not one person in this film has any respect for the craft of acting. I could never tell what the point of the whole film was which normally does not matter to me as long as there is some redeeming quality to the film ie. cinematography, directing , acting, score, story set design ..SOMETHING! Any one of those things will do. Maybe someone else will post a reason as to why this film was made because I didn't get it. Someone please explain it to me.
