When Hollywood makes movies about auto racing they usually miss the mark by a generous amount. Not sure why that is. Is it the cars that explode into flames after the slightest contact? Or maybe it's the drivers who don't seem to understand that the throttle actually goes all the way to the floor. But, there are a few that aren't too bad. That's what this list is about.

Movies about airplane crashes. That's what this list started out to be. But there aren't many movies ABOUT airplane crashes. "Fate is the Hunter" is a perfect example. I expanded my criteria to include movies where an airplane crash is a major element of the story "The Ghost of Flight 401".

Really bad movies that are quite entertaining because their badness is innovative or something.

Well, I think it was 1972. It was quite a while ago. One summer during school vacation I would walk the 3+ miles, once a week, to a movie theater to see a movie. This is a list of the movies I saw. They were mostly released late in 1971 so I figured it might have taken until the summer of 1972 to make it to the theater I was going to.

A list of various versions of one of my favorite stories. Some very good, some very bad. None of the movies (or the stage play) use the ending of the book. The book ending is the best in my opinion but I can see how it might not work in a movie.
