I will agree that Franks performance is one of not his best. Kim Novak is wonderful as well. I am a fan of Otto Preminger and find this lacking in his usual style. I see how this must have been heavy for 1955. As film history it's worth a view or to check off a Kim Novak performance, but I didn't find much to be impressed with.
Yes the sound was a distraction. But is a minor thing considering how good the story is. Brianna Ferris as Lieutenant Lyra is a high point for me, as the details and fanboy details.
id love to see this company get another shot.
