From the very beginning, you never know WTF is going on, and I mean that in the WORST way. None of the characters are particularly sympathetic, in part because we don't know what they're doing or why or even their relationship to each other (save for the brothers). And then... something... happens. Kind of. There's A LOT of blood but you have no idea from whence it's coming. A lot of unidentifiable noises. And strobe lights. And much of the second half is viewable only through the light of a tiny little flashlight.
It is an absolute waste of time. I have NO IDEA how this has made so many MUST SEE horror lists because it's just laughably bad. Im a horror fanatic and I love found footage movies, big this was a joke.

This movie was both spooky and (unexpectedly) touching. Perhaps I was so moved because I had just lost my beloved mother a year before and was dealing with my own babadook (grief). Horror films don't generally end in an uplifting way but this one did. It was a satisfying and moving end.
The antagonist in this film is so creepy and weird it's hard to watch when he's on.
