I grew up in Los Gatos California when there used to be a lot of orchards! It has changed a lot but still is home to me. In 1982 I won Miss. Northern California then went on to the Miss California Beauty pageant representing San Francisco. That spun me into an exciting career as a runway model taking me to Los Angeles, New York, Paris and back home to San Francisco. The last 10 or so years I have been studying, performing, and teaching acting. I just love it! But the best thing acting has brought me to is the SAG Foundation BookPals program. I started reading to children in schools then read and headed up readers in the family homeless shelters in the bay area. I did that for six years and am now organizing it here in LA. BookPals motto is "spreading the seeds of literacy" and reading to kids is how we do it. It's been the most fun and rewarding thing I have ever done.
