  • Review of "The Imposter"

I'm glad to see that the movie is finally coming out on DVD. I hope it does well. I saw an article in a local paper a couple of years ago about the filming in the Ft.Worth, Texas area and, since I have always been a dctalk and KANSAS fan. It was shown at some local theaters about a year or so ago and we took our youth group. I thought it was well made and the acting was pretty good and believable. Our youth group kids liked it for #1-the Christian rock music and #2-that it's like real life where everything doesn't come out perfect and that God is with us even when we mess up. This is a great youth movie. Not knowing for sure but I am wondering if the producers of "To Save a Life" saw it before doing their movie because both movies deal with real life stuff. I hope Christian movies keep going that route. Kids need that. You need to buy or rent The Imposter to see what I mean.

  • a Heart Wrenching movie

Man, talk about a lot of emotional stuff going on! Wow! What with all of the child predators and related things in the news today, this movie, even though it was made 4 years ago, really hits home and hits in the gut. Sean Patrick Flannery does a fine job in portraying a cop who is torn between doing his job and letting a vigilante "finish the job" plus personal problems on top of that. A little bloody for me at times but a well done indie movie. It was good to see Mimi Rogers in such a powerful role. And glad to see Joey Lauren Adams on film again. She makes it believable that her character has to overcome past problems and current anti-female cop male officers in order to prove herself capable of doing her job.

  • A good Lou Diamond Phillips movie!

Though this movie is a little on the bloody side for me, it held my attention. Even though it's a low budget indie movie, the FX were pretty good and believable. The story line is easy to follow and suspenseful. All of the actors do a really good job of becoming their character. I have seen co-star Tom Wright in several movies over the years (including "World Trade Center")and he is becoming a staple to the industry. The fight scenes made me groan in pain. Ouch!!This is a better movie than some of the high dollar movies being made now and the quality and editing are really pretty good. It looks like the director, Daniel Millican, is working his way up the movie business ladder and hopefully on to bigger projects. I hope he does a variety of movies in the future. I loved Vash's car!
