I am reading the book. It holds up really well. The writing is crisp, sometimes funny. The dialogue is great. This was out 2005. A while ago. This 2012 film is brilliant really and takes Lee Child's book seriously. Amazon, apart from the first season which is fantastic, does not. Back in 2012 Cruise becomes the part, not quite method as he's not 6.5 but he does a top notch job. Maybe Amazon has an agenda which is so wrong. Get the casting people to find the right people and preferably ones that can act, the first season springs to mind. I am poised to watch the 2012 film again as its so spot on. Lee Child, try and get Amazon to pay attention to your excellent writing skills.
After watching Bosch over the years this is a fairly banal crime drama. I can leave it on do something else and come back sure that I'm not particularly worried if I've missed something. Trouble is Connelly wrote it this way. A tiny light weight woman delicate like a butterfly so the first season major fight she got into I fully expected her to be nearly killed. He's not written her with any ex military or martial arts skills and her rag tag "army" doesn't impress too. The endless reflection they all do is pretty off putting too. No wonder it's aimed at even entry level high school kids. Bosch it ain't. That drama had an incredibly good balance between good and evil and I could actually be engrossed in it.
Can't believe some of the negative thought here. Think outside your box. Perhaps we are different from others. With this episode everything was perfect. So far the best of this season. The midwife was just doing what she thought was best and so was the doctor. The humour was marvellous. Every single programme is better when the viewer is able to laugh. We have a big family so even the content was great. The looks, the facial expressions were faultless , the pithy way the actors deliver their lines, the script, the comments we thought were hilarious in every single scene. What great direction. What was there not to like? There's no programme right now as good as this. We have all the DVDs as can't stand ITV's terrible woke advertising.
