I enjoyed this film. Had a classic plot, not too cheesy, fairly decent acting and no serious or obvious goofs.
The twist of Colton's daughter being a side kick was interesting. I did find the cold personalty of Colton as a family man prior to his wife's murder was somewhat problematic, but believable given his past history.
Performances were believable. While it's no Gone with the Wind or The Searchers, it's definitely a watchable and re-watchable film. I've seen it twice and it was good both times.

Nothing smurfy about it. Didn't follow smurf lore from the 1980s. Wasn't canonical. The voices weren't even close to the 1980s cartoons to the point it became distracting. Then Papa smurf all of a sudden has 2 brothers, and Gargamel too?
The music was terrible and the insistence of inserting rap and r&b into EVERY dang pop culture music and especially cartoons gets extremely annoying.
The story was all over the place. Just terrible. They ruined a great cartoon series.
