This could have been the best series of 2024 if it weren't for Lashana Lynch. I bet she is a great actress, but this role does not suits her at all. Eddie is doing a great job as a jackal/chameleon, and his acting is impecable. Most likely he will get an Emmy or Golden Globe nomination for his performance.
The show is 10/10 when it comes to Eddie's part, even when it's about his family you feel for him and you are interested in that plot. But with Lashana, her character is very poorly scripted. Like a misses knows it all who thinks she is better than everyone. For such a character, you need a convincing actress. There are so many talented women who nailed it in similar roles. I'm thinking about Claire Danes, who played Carrie Mathison on Homeland. Fabulous performance.
To sum up, the show is great, and I hope it would get a second season, but Lashana's weak performance might be an impediment.

There are a few issues with this film. First of all, the main character smiles at every line. Even when talking about dead relatives, he has a huge smile. I know he is a great actor, however, this was a serious movie and it was very annoying seing him smiling all the time.
Secondly, the CGI is a disaster. I just came back from the cinema and people were laughing saying "were those monkeys"?
Lastly, the action is very rushed. As I am not allowed to do any spoilers, the main action of the movie shifts every 30 minutes. Once you finally have some depth to a character, he is killed.
Also, some of the biggest reveals would have been better if they were shown near the end of the movie, as the suspense and the mystery would have been great.
