  • Right Reacher

I am not a fan of Lee Child's Reacher action series. Prior to the first season of the series, I had seen two Tom Cruise films. That is, I didn't know that Reacher was about the size of two Tom Cruises, so the mild outrage that accompanied those films (say, wrong actor) was incomprehensible to me.

When I watched a couple of episodes of the series, I decided to see why there was so much excitement -- here he is, the right Jack Reacher. And at the same time I read the books, on the basis of which the films and the 1st season of the series were made.

What can I say... of course Tom Cruise is no good, because one of the main features of Reacher is his size. You can say a lot of things about Cruise, he's good, he likes to run and all that.... but you can't call him a Big Guy.

In general, the series achieved a 100% match between the character and the actor. It's a great stroke of luck for the people who cast Alan Ritchson in this role. I think for Alan Ritchson it is also a great luck, because now he is not someone who played somewhere, but in his place in the main role. Good luck to him!

  • Meaningful film

There are scenes in this film that are wildly irritating. And there are scenes that inspire optimism and kindness. Objectively, if you put aside the ingrained passion to criticise everything, the film is good. Well, yes, I've never seen it in its entirety, but I've seen it in parts several times.

As a Russian who has lived in Russia all his life (and I intend to quit my life here), I must admit that this film incorporates many things from real Russian Soviet life. Late Soviet. And it puts a stamp on it.

I'll try to explain for Americans and other Westerners. The late Soviet period that I lived in, along with all that was good about it, had a distinct smell of decay. And films like this always irritate my nose. But at the same time, they remind me of my youth. And there was more good than bad back then, because youth, you know? Yeah, you know. We're all human.

All in all, ladies and gentlemen, it's a meaningful film. I'll conclude by saying that it's a very good thing when late love happens. It's the love of experienced people who have the skills to enjoy it and reasons to cherish it.

  • Complete collection of Hollywood clichés

This movie is a complete collection of Hollywood clichés from comic book movies. Every scene is copied from some American movie, with details replaced. If in a Hollywood movie the villain wears a mask with Santa Claus or a nun, here it is a character from a Soviet style, and all that sort of thing. Scenes at the police station, dialogues, jokes (if you can call it that)...

There was a movie like that -- Last Action Hero (1993), there were some parody scenes at the police station, some parody chases and parody villains. Well, the movie I'm reviewing is a parody of a parody.

Absolutely dead dialogues and characters. The only character that evokes feelings is the dog at the beginning of the movie. Great acting, character development in dynamics. And she thankfully wasn't given any dialogue. 3/10.
