This is probably the worst tv I have ever watched in my lifetime. Not only is the plot full of holes, it would do justice to a colander, but the acting is atrocious, especially Sheridan Smith. All you see is her relentless pout and white veneers, she is embarrassing. Why Paramount picked this up is beyond me. This could have been done in 30 minutes and i cannot fathom how they managed to stretch it out to 5 episodes. It reminded me of a teen movie from the fifties with Sheridan playing the 16 year old in a 40 year old body, unbelievable. Even the police were made out to be amateur part timers, this I'm sorry to say is instantly forgettable.
For those of you mourning the end of Line Of Duty, and i am one of them, then switch on to this fantastic, entertaining and quality cop drama. You soon latch on to the characters in this superb cop drama, and this production contains thrills, comedy and edge of your seat excitement. Of course in any series there is usually stand out stars and Blue Lights is no exception. There are too many to mention, but one person that stands out in the crowd is Inspector David 'Jonty' Johnston played wonderfully by Jonathan Harden. He is a joy to behold and i cannot wait to see what he does next in his career. Give Blue Lights a chance you will not be disappointed and my wife and i are praying for a second series.
This is nothing special and is mediocre at best. Pedro Pascal is his usual quality self and Bella Ramsey is fantastic. However there is 9 hours of peoples relationships with about 5 minutes of infected. This has all been done before in shows like Walking Dead. To me there was at least 2 episodes which were virtually unwatchable. One was an hour dedicated to a gay couple and one where Bella's character showed her and a friends relationship together, not the sort of thing I tuned in for. The series looked cheap with a minimal budget and there was no tension. I'm sorry but I won't be waiting for season 2 in a hurry.
