The first half of the first episode of this series is terrible. It gives the watcher the impression that this is some kind of cookie cutter superhero time travel series, which it absolutely is not.
This is a complex, nuanced, incredibly interesting onion that you peel over the course of two series. I really wish more people had discovered this amazing sleeper series and it had run for 4-5 seasons. There is so much depth. The production value is outstanding. The acting delivers across the board, and the series is both thoughtful and exciting with amazing, high-quality action sequences.
It is highly interesting and to top it all off also deals with multiple complex romance stories.
I really enjoyed this show and I think anyone who likes sci-fi, particularly regarding time travel, will absolutely love this series.
It's 10/10.

Really enjoyable thriller series. I never binge shows but it was hard to stop watching. The thriller kept you very engaged and there were interesting twists and turns. However, what sets this series apart is the character development and the broader reflections of our current political and societal issues. It's never too preachy and tends to shine a mirror on how our society works as opposed to preaching or offering solutions.
It's very good and very enjoyable. Acting is outstanding, pace is excellent, and character development and thoughtfulness is both interesting and engaging.
Definitely recommend.

Unfortunately, this movie represent the Hollywood bastardization of artful content and it's degradation to comical and silly physical violence.
The original movie is quite terrifying. It demonstrates how superficial factors can be so deceiving and weaves it's web of terror and deceit slowly, methodically and richly. The viewer becomes entangled simultaneously and at the same pace as the key protagonists.
The difference is really the ending, which captures the overwhelming power of fear and how it can incapacitate and paralyze you despite an obvious and present danger.
It is both more realistic and far more terrifying. It will leave you thinking about the film, the story, and how you would respond in similar circumstances.
This movie just descends into silliness. The actors are prettier but not neccessarily better.
Finally, James McAvoy is a good actor, but for all those giving high ratings because of JM, they should just stare at a picture of this handsome man for 2 hours instead.
Watch the original. Ditch the Hollywood bastard child.
