The trailer made it look like an exciting thriller. It was nothing but absurd plot twists. I haven't seen Josh Hartnett in anything in a while. He deserved something better than this. M. Night Shyamalan should quit making movies. He hasn't made anything good since 1999 with The Sixth Sense. Nothing in this movie makes any sense. The main character pushes a woman down the stairs for no reason in a crowded stadium and not one person notices... Okay... He lies to get backstage and the pop star performer just allows him to do anything he wants and even goes home with him and his daughter. I could go on and on with all of the absurd plot details, but I won't. Don't waste your time with this.
I'm not sure who should feel more insulted or duped, sci-fi fans or Christians? This is just awful from beginning to end. The acting by Neal McDonaugh as the Benefactor is so over the top it's comical. You want to feel for Kevin with the loss of his wife, but it's just too absurd to take seriously. Sean Astin really deserves better roles than this crap too. This is the last time I go into a movie without finding out what the actual plot is. I feel ripped off even though this viewed through AMC's A-List subscription pass and I didn't have to technically pay to watch it. Never again will I be duped into watching something like this ever again.
