..from Noah Hawley. This is excellent television, the low scores are idiotic. High production quality in both sound and visuals. The monsters are crazy good, especially the possessed lamb. I would watch a spin off based on that freak alone. Hilarious to just hold on that dumb psycho. Ms Chandler is stunning. Both in performance and that face that the camera can't get enough of. All the actors were convincing as children trapped in adult bodies and who's cooler than Olyphant as machine? No one since Ruther Hauer has stuck that schtick. Love the theme of Neverland and and boy genius especially in the last shot. Like he's won! Sad side note: we seem to be about 5 yrs away from 5 corporations ruling the world. So, thanks for that glimpse into the future Noah!
Can't recommend. Weak writing and an absolutely absurd plot line made for a tough watch. A drug lab in an abandoned mine? In Yosemite?! What th...that sounds like an episode of the Fall Guy or Starsky and Hutch or some other cocaine induced 80's garbage, not 21st century, golden age of prestige television. The chase with Bana and the sniper at the end was ridiculous. He might as well have painted a target on his back. Before that, the lab bust mine shootout played like a video game or a Connery era Bond movie. Amateur hour. C'mon Netflix, you jack your prices, bait n switch us with the commercial free lie and then try and serve this pablum? Don't know how much longer I can stick around...
7 mins in and they've checked just about every tired, cop show cliche there is. The Brits and the Nords write circles around us when it comes to Detective series. As our education system continues to be dismantled, as half the country thinks we're headed for "greatness" again, while people with no talent whatsoever become you tube famous...weak stuff like this can pass as good television. Well it's not. I reached for the remote during the laughable unrealistic opening chase but then John Carroll Lynch appeared so now I'm back in. Then one great piece of dialogue, "Gluten-free is not a real thing, Colleen." (maybe our Crate n Barrell relief character?) but the trope that everyone beats us over the head with again and again across all series shows up in the form of a higher up that just won't leave our hero alone so they can do their job. What's next is another precinct or the FBI going to enter and say, "This is our case."? I'll be over at Britbox if anyone's interested another dose of my bile.
