Jackson was a great singer and dancer but his acting style was theatrical and over the top. You can see that Wesley Snipes acting ability was several leagues better. Jackson's look also seems out of place compared to his colleagues and his poppy song doesn't fit in with the gritty vibe of the video. Michael Jackson was not a good actor at all.
The acting of Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna was so simplistic. Anupam Kher has played Manmohan Singh as if he was a scared child with the same expression in every scene and a ridiculous walk. Manmohan Singh is a soft spoken man but he is nothing like he was portrayed in this movie. Even though this was a serious movie for Bollywood standards it still had no subtlety in the way Manmohan Singh was portrayed. Likewise Akshaye Khanna also has limited expressions, he's literally got a silly grin in each scene that he is in.
The story is somewhat interesting in the beginning but drags in the second half.

I don't know how Benigni won the Oscar for best actor, his performance is theatrical and completely over the top. The first half of the film has almost nothing to do with the war and holocaust.
We're hardly shown any of the horrors that took place or the suffering that people went through.
Watch The Pianist instead.
