In this day and age where if you star in a marvel movie you will become a megastar, so I always feel bad for Christopher Reeve he was typecast as superman and wasn't seen as anything different, but I believe he was a very overlooked and underrated actor just watch his performance in this film and tell me different. The film is a great love story with the musical score hitting every emotion I don't think you could ask for a better film.
