Look, it's B rated film. They certainly don't have A rated backing. But with that said, it's a very powerful film. It's not for everyone. But for those on the path of spiritual realization, this may resonate very loudly. The main character is "like the spiritual aspirant" (this is my take, no spoilers here) who finds themselves in a dark world. Loveless, lifeless. If you've ever felt like you didn't fit in because this world is too archaic, this may very well speak to you. It may even help you advance in your understanding of the way things could be, if a major shift took place in the hearts of many. If you don't expect top A list production, etc - then you won't be disappointed. They worked with what they had. Heart.
There are many ways to evaluate a film, in the case of Collateral Beauty, the "feel good" factor or after-affect stands tantamount in my mind. I'm not a huge Will Smith fan, nor do I despise him. But I would have to say that it's certainly one of his top performances as an actor.
This film appeals to many facets of human experience. The pain of loss, and what good may come out of such terrible circumstances. The genuine care of friends and family for those going through times of extreme loss, and the conundrums of life that arise in such situations.
But what stood out as a bright and shining star in this film is the writing. The writing contains a certain level understanding and enlightenment that rises above the average film. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, so please just see for yourself. Watch it! And if you're a spiritual seeker, there will be many head nods and even some "aha" moments.

This series is wonderful! I agree with the many who stated that Ted Lasso won over not just the antagonists of the show, but also this skeptic! Let's face it, Apple's all about making political and social statements that deal with what they feel is injustice. Hey, that's fine. But it's all subjective. Just another dualistic trap IMO. When you praise one group, you oftentimes condemn another. And all I want to do is be entertained sometimes. Not preached at. The positive and bright character of Ted outshines almost anything I've seen in recent years. I highly recommend this for those wanting to relax and unwind. Great character development and sprinkled with humor even though the show deals with real life issues, and how we all grapple with them. The last episode, IMO, gives us a green light for two more seasons so to speak. One season to 'get promoted' back into the league. And a following to do the unthinkable - win against all odds!
