  • excellent noir

I really liked this film. "Born-children" presents three stories of children, difficult children, with a desolate and empty Reykjavik in the background. Three stories of children involved in, breathing violence, solitude, rejection, alienation. Three stories which then cross each other, to compare solitude with solitude, in a strenuous research of the individual to fight against their own loneliness and alienation which, before being physical, is internal, psychological. Excellent the choice of the black and white, which enhances the dark and empty atmospheres of the situations. Very good film, successful in picturing characters and their state and recreating atmospheres of universal alienation.

  • great movie!!!

I was really caught by the story - a story which I didn't know, and which is hardly known outside Spain and even Catalogne, as the director explained in a festival here in Italy where the film was presented. The last years of life of Salvador Puig Antich, the Spanish anarchic activist, who became the last prisoner of the Franchist regime to be executed. The rhythm is fantastic, energetic and dynamic, thanks to a very suggestive photography and the use of vivid images. The music supports the high tone of the events. The last part involves the spectator in a "crescendo" of emotions, slowing down the rhythm while approaching to the inevitable end. No political claims, no moralistic lessons. A well shot, thrilling, emotional movie!

  • hilarious...and already seen

I personally found the plot too complicated to the point in which you spend the following 15 min after the end of the film (after which you decide you have definitely something more useful to think of) summing up all the events to make some sense out of them. Surrelistic plot, to the extent that you cannot avoid smiling and think: This is really too much! Abundance of elements which have already been: the brave courageous and stubborn police-man, the stunningly beautiful and unlucky young woman, the crazy maniac threatening the American security, last...but not least...a love story! The classic and boring "American action movie" full of stereotypes and the unavoidable happy end!
