  • Nebraskans Aren't Stupid Hicks

I hated this episode for one reason: they made people from Omaha look like stupid hicks. One line in particular was so condescending that I almost puked. Eliot said something like, "The farms are drying up and Omaha is nothing but strip joints and pawn shops. these boys have nothing else to do." Give me a break! Have you been to Omaha? I don't think the writers of an otherwise outstanding show have ever set foot in the middle of the country. Get out of LA for once and then you'll see that Nebraskans aren't idiots. They also don't have southern accents. Next time you want to produce a show that takes place other than LA, NY, or Boston, perhaps you should check out the location first.

  • Religious Concerns Unlikely Reason

The author of the post presented an illogical (and rather insulting)conclusion when he said "apparently to avoid religious concerns among American audiences about (sic) scorcery." That statement is complete and total rubbish and begs the question. If what Derek said were true, then how does he explain American shows like "Sabrina, the Teen-Aged Witch," and "Bewitched"? The name change, in all likelihood, is due to the fact that "Wizard's First Rule" isn't accurate as the series is going to encompass more than just the first book. They probably didn't go with "The Sword of Truth" because it doesn't have what they were looking for in a title. Therefore, I conclude that they settled on "The Legend of the Seeker" because it summarized the show nicely and has a distinctive ring to it.

  • Stupid Joke. Stupid Movie

I'm not going to go on and on about the badness of the movie. It sucked. I hated every second of it. It's 90 or so minutes I'll never get back. I'd really like to leave it at that, but IMDb wants me to provide 10 lines of text. I know there are people who like it. No accounting for taste. What a stupid joke that got dressed up with vile illustrations. It wasn't funny. It was creative. It was just stupid. I think if the movie had gone on for another minute, my eyes would have been stuck rolled back into my head. What else is there to say? There's a reason comedians tell the joke to other comedians: it's a stupid inside joke. Inside jokes should never be told to people who aren't part of the joke. It loses something in the telling.

There are so many movies that are better. In fact, I'd say that almost any other movie ever made is better. Save your money for any other movie. Do not watch the Aristocrats.
