Many people think this show is good and I think the show is ok, but the book is much much better and lurid. The story is told quickly and too much is left out of the book. They should have made a little more episodes to deepen the story. The climax to the murders is missing and the murders are not shown, only the result. Maybe the murders are too bloody for a tv show. In my opinion the characters are not well cast but each reading the book has its own interpretation. I would advise everyone to read the book if you haven't watched the series yet. People who have read the book will rate this show probably lower.
I hardly recognize the book. Why don't they just stick with the book. It would be a much better movie. Why do filmwriters think they can always do better? They movie is a big mess.
The show is sometimes very confusing because there are a lot of deleted scenes. When an episode starts with "previously" there are scenes which where never aired. Bad editing! The show is ok but not great.
