That's not a hyperbolic review title either. With the big names, I thought "it can't be THAT bad". Well I was wrong. Between CGI that ranged from just ok to absolutely horrible to complete disregard for their own continuity and major (and minor) plot holes, this is definitely an absolutely horrid movie.
The movie also is vying for the worst "hack" and computer use in media right up there with Bones' computer code being written on a skeleton, and the infamous NCIS double-hack. And the product placement of Amazon, Meta and Microsoft sure didn't help calm the waters there.
Add to that it was shot, I am told, at the height of Covid and there is almost ZERO face-to-face interaction between the characters it was quite apparent there was SOMETHING going on there. The movie had that vibe of being a "covid movie". At the time I just didn't know it had been on a shelf for 4 or 5 years. Perhaps it should have stayed there.

From the poor acting (though better than SOME horrible movies I've seen) to the backyard level special effects, this movie is horrible on a level that defies logic. What little budget they had they used on cgi sequences that didn't look completely horrible, but high budget video games can do. The non-cgi effects though were amazingly bad. From an astronaut defying physics while OBVIOUSLY swaying slightly back and forth on wires as a prop is slowly shoved into frame by a grip to Birddemic level cut and paste "damage" done by smaller pieces of the moon crashing into earth, the sfx are completely ridiculous. Frankly, the movie crossed the line into humor so many times without intending to that they should have just embraced that and added the comedy tag to the description. Oh... and it was like they hooked up every episode of Star Trek ever created and hooked them up to a deus ex machina extractor and refined the result into pure absurdium and inserted it into the movie like a drug addict attempting to OD repeatedly.
If any movie ever created deserved the MST3K treatment more than Manos Hands of Fate... it's this one.

How they treated Roseanne, and I never did like her comedy, was ridiculous. But the show soldiered on and even focused on her character's death in a few episodes. Overall it was still the Roseanne show, just with 100% less Roseanne.
But it is completely unconscionable that in the flashbacks at the end of the series they did not once acknowledge Roseanne. They could have shown a single photo of her and Dan and the kids from the original series. But they couldn't even be bothered to do that. Shame on everyone involved with that decision. She deserved to be recognized as the person who created/started the show at it's end and they stripped her of that.
