  • "Why'd you have to go and make things so complicated?"

Yes, I am quoting Avril Lavigne here, because it's pretty much why I give it only a 6. Iook is a slick detective show, nice cinematography a very good colin farrell, and the case while not being amazing it's interesting enough to watch. The issue is that the show is not about the case, and when we realize the whole truth we're like "this truth seems very disposable right?".

It's like they could have made "just" a fine detective show and decided to absolutely over-complicated it. With no much reason besides "here take a twist you do not need, but we decided to give you anyway". Ok, but the whole plot even the ending could have been made with that twist of things. Ultimately this is my complain even though I do love the theme of the twist, not the twist itself.

I repeated "twist" too much, and overall is a very enjoyable series. Classy, with a lot of references from amazing movies, and fun to watch. They just did not need to make it so complicated.

  • extremely charming

It's a pretty much comfort viewing where a socially awkward and brilliant puzzle maker is replacing his twin brother in the police, since he disappeared. It is basically a procedural with a main current plot about the brother's disappearance, but I actually was pretty happy that there is one crime per episode. It is really fun to just watch him solve the crimes without any police knowledgemente envolved. It reminds me "monk" a bit, a show that I really love, but with a different flavour and perhaps wittier.

For sure it will have a US remake sooner or later, since it's the type of premise that can have endless seasons and money due to a future syndication after 456 episodes. But let's all be happy because for sure we will have more "ludwig" in the future and I'm glad this was made. Emphatic characters, nicely written misteries and mostly a strong protagonist. Extremely entertaining.

  • one of the best comedies I've ever seen.

Sofia Coppola, Tarantino, Aaron Sorkin, even Ricky Gervais I grasped here. The awkward humor is amazing. It's so so fun, I never dreamnt I would laugh so hard with this film. It is so embarassing to watch sometimes, and I love that. It encapsulates the spirit of a time, but it wants the audience to evaluate their own relationships, it wants to test us to see how forward are we really.

And believe me even today a lot of people would be embarassed by the film and missed the point. I can't even realize this has not even a "7" as evaluation. I mean this should be rated at least as high as most quintessencial woody allen films are. 4 charming actors, a perfect script, and so many funny scenes, being for me the one with whisky the best.

Please stop missing this movie, it deserves to reach a way wider audience.
