Peepli Live is nothing short of a marvelous movie. It is daring, it is full of high class satire and it is hard-hitting. The cast is simply amazing. Nattha, the main protagonist, was able to convince the audience of the naivety of his character. The expressions and his body language are so original. For ex. the scene where he and his brother (played by Raghubeer Yadav) are drunk and singing -achcha sila diya tune mere pyaar ka- look so real and humorous, that you can't help but give a hearty smile. When it comes to the issues faced by Indian society today, movie spares no one. Be it politicians, media persons, administration, or commoners, every one has been shown the mirror. The best thing about the movie is the use of humor all throughout to keep audience fully engaged. Also, movie has a good pace. One thing happening after another keeps you always looking forward to what will happen now. One of the best scenes that I liked was the last one where camera starts going back from village roads to pakka roads, then to highway, then enters a city where we see lot of vehicles and buildings and finally a construction site where lots of villagers are working as laborers. That scene so clearly shows the dichotomy of Indian life. A must watch I will say.
With "Udaan", director Vikramditya Motwane has proved that he is here to stay and be the 'change' that we are all desperately seeking. "Udaan" is so brilliantly written, directed and acted that it just mesmerizes you with its story telling. Rohan's journey after being expelled from boarding school in the city of Jamshedpur working under his tyrant father and the way his character evolves simply touches your heart. Little bit of one liners shared between Rohan and his friends stay with you. Rohan's younger step brother is absolutely fabulous and even if he spoke barely few dialogues in the movie, he made an impact by his sly little demeanors. Character of ultra strict father played by Ronit Roy is so well crafted and acted that it is very much believable. To top it all, amazing music from Amit Trivedi gels so well into the movie that it lifts the spirits up by tons. At the end, kudos to the whole team for delivering such a lovely work.
