This once great staple of British TV has really hit the bottom of quiz shows over the last few years. From it's beginnings in the early 70s when it truly deserved it's title with questions that were genuinely difficult, now it's sunk to a level that we were watching re-runs of Bullseye and it had more challenging questions!
Add to that the ridiculous length of the questions that almost give away the answer and a boring host who has little charisma and it makes the show quite mediocre for viewers.
Another show ruined by producers....

Here we go again - Another low quality, low budget effort unleashed on the public courtesy of Channel 4 😥
Dreary and depressing as per usual with most boxes ticked. Acting consists of swearing, moping and lots of staring into space.
Production wise it's sub-par with it's dark ,blurry camera work complete with obligatory juddery handheld effect for no good reason. The incidental music sounds like it has come from the You Tube library - So basically a generic TV drama with typical PC influence sprinkled over it - You'd be better off watching something more engaging and professionally made.

Just watched this show in 2025 and it is a pleasure to see. I remember Jack Benny from when I was a kid and always enjoyed his persona of being portrayed as "mean" and his deadpan delivery.
Here many famous guests including Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra Lucille Ball, Bob Hope and Dinah Shore join him on a 20th anniversary special celebrating his TV work featuring many clips of famous stars that had been on his show over the years including Nat "King" Cole, Jimmy Stewart and many others. The show is interspersed with comedic sketches playing on his dry humour. Some of the humour has dated - much like The Sonny and Cher comedy show, but it's a great record of a great comic in his heyday with much to enjoy.
